I worked as the sound recordist for this horror short film and will be doing the post production soon. The story follows a tense reunion between two estranged sisters, where an uncomfortable conversation forces them to confront a traumatic shared past.
Because we filmed in a large, echoey church hall, my main challenge was managing the room acoustics. I solved this through thoughtful boom placement, hanging sound blankets and getting a clean recording on radio mics. Moving into the post-production phase, my focus is now on using sound design to build the unsettling tension behind their conversation.
