I handled the complete audio production for a documentary exploring the work of Kai, a non-binary artist. Kai creates living sculptures from mycelium, exploring our connection to the natural world and drawing parallels between societal perceptions of fungus and queerness.
I overcame the challenges of capturing clean dialogue in high-traffic London locations, including a busy art studio and various outdoor spaces, balancing these with stereo atmos field recordings that I captured to immerse the audience in the quiet forest environments. I collaborated closely with the composer to align the score with the film’s emotional pacing, performed original foley, and executed the full audio edit before delivering the final 5.1 surround mix for cinema exhibition.
